coreboot+flashrom
| flashrom and coreboot are sister projects and will share one booth.
coreboot (formerly known as LinuxBIOS) is a Free Software project aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) you can find in most of today's computers. It performs just a little bit of hardware initialization and then executes a so-called payload. With this separation of hardware initialization and later boot logic, coreboot can scale from specialized applications run directly from firmware, operating systems in flash, and custom bootloaders to implementations of firmware standards like PCBIOS and EFI without having to carry features not necessary in the target application, reducing the amount of code and flash space required. coreboot currently supports 222 different mainboards. flashrom is a utility for identifying, reading, writing, verifying and erasing flash chips. It's often used to flash BIOS/EFI/coreboot/firmware/optionROM images on mainboards, network/graphics/storage controller cards, and various programmer devices. flashrom is extremely portable and fully supports DOS, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, DragonFly BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X. Partial support for other operating systems (Windows etc.) is available as well. It can be executed in a normal running system without the need for reboots, works well on machines without keyboard or monitor, and can be run over the network via SSH. flashrom currently supports more than 225 flash chips, 128 chipsets, 19 PCI devices, 3 USB devices and all external programmers which use the serprog protocol.

Debian Project
| Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian provides more than a pure OS: it comes with over 25.000 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine. There will be a talk about Debian's youngest official child, Debian GNU/kFreeBSD.

Perl
| Perl - Programmiersprache
We want to present some Open Source solutions written/using Perl. Furthermore we want to show new and shiny things happening in the Perl development. Even though Perl exists for a long time already, new things happen to both the language itself and its libraries. CPAN is the central archive for Perl libraries and as there are about 20,000 libraries you can find a library for nearly every job you have to do.

sidux
| sidux is an operating system based on the Linux kernel and Debian's most modern branch (called "sid") with 24,000+ free open source applications.
Unlike many other widely known Linux distributions, sidux offers a rolling release. Basically this means that a dist-upgrade brings the system up to the newest available version in Debian sid. Reinstallation of a new release is therefore not necessary, thus one can enjoy a system which is up-to-date with the diversity of new and improved software. By using the Debian packet infrastructure (dpkg and apt-get), a sidux user is able to install any available Debian packages easily. Additionally sidux provides programs which help simplify the administration of the operating
system, for example, a program to configure network devices.
