Hackfests
From FrOSCamp
We wish to give projects the possibility to work on their code base during FrOSCamp. We know you can keep coding at home and over the internet instead of coming to FrOSCamp but we offer you the chance to face your fellow contributors. Sometime it's just making development easier if you can work on a big issue or a giant new feature while sitting at the very same table.
So if you think this is the real thing for you and your mates make sure to send us a mail. Don't forget to tell us to what project you belong, what issue/feature you plan to work on (if already decided), how many people you are and whatever else could be important for us to know.
Right you wonder what exactly we have to offer. It's quite simple: a table, some chairs, power sockets (Type J, europlug compatible) and wifi. Very likely also a (at least) 10/100 ethernet switch with a very good internet uplink. Bring your own laptop and cat-5 (or better) cable.
Just to let you know: you won't get a room of your own. Instead, there will be 3-6 projects on each floor, just above the main exhibition area and close to the talk/workshop rooms. So it won't be totally quiet around you but what could be more a better source of motivation than the buzz of the community surrounding you? Maybe this could even enable two projects to share their thoughts while working mostly independently.
All calls are now closed.

DokuWiki
| DokuWiki is a standards compliant, simple to use Wiki, mainly aimed at creating documentation of any kind. It is targeted at developer teams, workgroups and small companies. It has a simple but powerful syntax which makes sure the datafiles remain readable outside the Wiki and eases the creation of structured texts. All data is stored in plain text files – no database is required.

Next Gen PHP Frameworks
| Developers from next-gen PHP frameworks like symfony2, flow3 and others will get together to exchange how their chosen framework works, identify differences, learn from each other but also sharping their respective profiles in regards to their chosen differences. This might also help to start building cooperation like maybe a piece of code in one of the frameworks could be unbundled to benefit others. The idea would be to hold the hackfest on Friday, then use Saturday morning to create a presentation for the afternoon.

Swiss Puppet User Group
| Deployed puppet on your infrastructur ? Want to share your experience? Or learn about cool stuff others have done? Come and exchange with some of the best "puppetmasters" in Switzerland!

CouchDB support in Doctrine ODM
| NoSQL databases are emerging more and more as a real world alternative to RDBMS for data storage. The Doctrine project therefore now created an ODM layer (currently only MongoDB is supported) along side their ORM (which supports many RDBMS). In this hackfest we want to expand the Doctrine ODM with support for CouchDB.

Jackalope Write Support
| Jackalope aims to implement a pure PHP frontend to the Java Content Repository (JCR) Jackrabbit. The content repository abstracts how data is actually stored, allowing applications to grow and being ready for high-end features like revisions and acl without re-implementing everything from scratch.
The project got a boost recently when the symfony cmf group started thoughts about using the content repository as base for their project. Nevertheless, Jackalope itself will remain independant from frameworks. Jackalope currently can only read from a content repository. The hackfest will aim at implementing some write support. This is an opportunity for you to join Jackalope development and get a head start into the inner workings of the Jackalope-Jackrabbit communication. Read some background about Jackalope, read the jackalope wiki and the wikipedia article about JCR. To get involved, please sign up here and join our hackfest table on Saturday.
